Product Overview
The typical HPLC system houses 10-20 printed circuit boards who's replacement cost ranges from 500-$2000/board. This "line-interactive" UPS represents a step up from lower priced "stand-by" UPS's, and provides a clean sinewave output in addition to surge protection, and bucking and boosting of over/under voltage. In the long haul, quality UPS's pay for themselves many times over in minimizing downtime and repair costs.
This particular unit provides 18 minutes of protection at 225 watts (350VA), or approx 6 minutes at it's maximum output of 450W (700VA). The typical HPLC system with a computer, two pumps, a detector, and autosampler or fraction collector will generally fall within this limit of 450W. (Note: Column ovens use lots of power and generally need less protection, so they are typically not plugged into the UPS.) You should confirm this by checking the power requirements on the back of your HPLC and PC modules.
